We have already come to the end of the first spring half term and although it’s been a few short weeks it has certainly been jam-packed! This term has ended in a fantastic celebration of maths with our Times Tables Rock Stars Day. We have been amazed and entertained by the variety of Rock Stars costumes and the effort that has gone into them! Thank you to everyone involved in creating them and to the children for taking part so enthusiastically. This event was not only to raise the profile of maths in school, but also to encourage children to learn all their times tables “off by heart”. This is something you can help your child with at home to give them a head start in maths and there are copies of the times tables in their school planners to help them. If your child can recall them well, see if they can do them backwards or out of order for the extra challenge. Children can access Times Tables Rock Stars at home and the information and links should have been sent out via the school planners. Children can play on their own or against each other in the ‘multi-player’ modes. Please see the class teacher if you haven’t had your information or let us know if you have been unable to log on.
On behalf of all the staff at Forest Gate Academy I would like to thank all our parents/carers for their amazing support this term. We wish you all a happy half term and look forward to seeing the children back in school on Monday 17th February.
