Parent Volunteers

Forest Gate Academy recognizes the valuable contributions parents and guardians can make to our school community through volunteer efforts. This Parent Volunteer Policy outlines the guidelines and expectations for parents who wish to volunteer at our school, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all students and volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunities

  1. Fundraising: Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in fundraising events to support school programmes and initiatives.
  2. Committees: Parents and guardians can join various school committees such as the Parent Council, Gardening Team or the Wellbeing Council (we are always open to more ideas).

Expectations of Parent Volunteers

  1. Professionalism: Volunteers must conduct themselves in a professional manner and adhere to school policies and procedures at all times.
  2. Confidentiality: Volunteers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of student and school information they may come across during their volunteer work.
  3. Safeguarding: Volunteers are asked to report any safeguarding concerns they hear whilst undertaking volunteer duties, regarding children, to a member of staff.
  4. Reliability: Volunteers should be punctual and fulfil their commitments. We ask if you are unable to attend a scheduled event you notify school so alternative staffing arrangements can be made.

We encourage parent involvement and recognize that volunteers play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of our students. We welcome all parents and guardians who wish to contribute their time and talents to our school community while adhering to this policy.

Thank you,

The Forest Gate Academy Team
